Attorney, Carmen B. Marquez is an experienced, thoughtful estate planning attorney and the founder of Carmen B. Marquez PC. She graduated from Loyola Marymount University in 1993 with a degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in International Business and a minor in Spanish Literature. Carmen received her Law Degree from Southwestern University School of Law in 2001. She worked full time and had both of her children while attending law school. She passed the California Bar exam on her first attempt in December 2001, licensed to practice law in the State of California. After graduating from Law School, Carmen was an associate attorney in an Elder Law Firm working in the Medi-Cal Planning department.
As a young child, Carmen was very curious and was always at the top of her class; she excelled in math and history. She grew up in Los Angeles in an impoverished neighborhood. She considers her father the most significant influence of her life, although she was only 9 ½ years old when he died. He was the person who believed in her and encouraged her to go to college and become an attorney. In many ways losing her father is why Carmen is an estate planning attorney today.
Carmen is one of a few bilingual Spanish Speaking attorneys in Southern California who practices Estate Planning. In 2012, she decided to open a law firm to provide quality estate plans at affordable prices. She has guided and helped hundreds of individuals, couples, and families set up estate plans that are right for them.
Carmen married her college sweetheart. In 1998, after the birth of their first child, they moved from Los Angeles County to Ventura County to raise their family. She opened her first law office in Simi Valley, California but quickly added a second office in Glendale, California. Her Glendale and Simi Valley offices signify the communities close to her heart.
Carmen’s pride and joy are her children, Briana and Andrew. When she is not hard at work on estate plans, trust administrations, or Medi-Cal planning, she loves to travel with her husband, try new restaurants, read, and spend time with her family and friends making memories that will outlast her life.
