We at CBM understand that if we are blessed to grow old, we may all need some help. Paying privately for long-term care can be an enormous burden and deplete your assets. Fortunately, California has created new programs and passed laws to help seniors and their families get the proper care when they reach their golden years.
Our dedicated, caring attorneys and staff will provide a warm, responsive experience to help you find the right resources, protect your assets and qualify for Medi-Cal. Nursing home care prices in California range from $95,904 to $135,598 a year. It is crucial to make sure you have an estate plan that includes long-term care planning or that you have good Power of Attorney that will allow your agents to make changes to your current plan to protect you and your assets from financial ruin.
Unfortunately, some elder law firms take advantage of people when helping them with long-term crisis planning, charging an average of $20,000 ($10,933.00 x 2) to assist them in qualifying for Medi-Cal. That is two times the average monthly cost of a nursing care facility. We at CBM refuse to take advantage of people who need it the most.
At CBM, we have a different approach and charge reasonable fees based on the documents, services, and work we perform. If you plan ahead of time and create an estate plan that includes eldercare planning, it will cost you less when it is time to transition into a long-term care facility or get the needed assistance at home.

At CBM we never charge potential clients for the first 60-minute initial consultation whether or not we are retained. However, we will require a nonrefundable deposit if the potential client requires a second consultation before we are hired. We will apply 50% of the nonrefundable deposit toward the price of the work to be performed on behalf of the client.
CBM also do not charge for follow-up phone calls, emails, and assistance to help our private clients properly fund their trust for up to three months after they execute their Trust. This includes working with our client’s financial advisors (as long as we have our client’s consent) to ensure the trust is properly funded.
